About

Fairways and Miles

Fairways and Miles started from two habits that turned out to share a spreadsheet: planning golf trips, and squeezing more out of credit card points and airline miles to get to them. Most golf travel writing ignores the points math. Most points-and-miles writing has never mentioned a tee time. This site is the overlap.

Alongside the writing, Fairways and Miles makes puzzle books — starting with Golf Course Kakuro, a kakuro series laid out like a scorecard, front nine to back nine. They live in a golf bag or a carry-on comfortably, which was the actual design brief.

Fairways and Miles is a sole proprietorship. It's a one-person editorial operation: one byline, one point of view, one person accountable for what gets published.

Editorial Policy & Disclosure

Editorial independence. Recommendations on this site reflect our own research and judgment. No advertiser, card issuer, hotel program, or airline has editorial input over what we write or how we rate anything.

Fact-checking commitment. Every price, points valuation, or availability claim carries a date and a source. Points programs and prices change constantly; if a number looks stale, it probably is — tell us and we'll fix it.

Disclosure: Fairways and Miles may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through links on this page, including Amazon links, at no additional cost to you. We only recommend what we'd put in our own bag or carry-on. Our editorial opinions are our own.
